The Great Western Railway Dean Goods class was built and designed by William Dean. The locomotives originally took a Great Western livery, wearing 2 different types of livery during the Second World War (including working in France) before entering BR. 260 of the class were built between 1883 and 1899. Only one of the class survived into preservation.

This 7 ¼ model of the Dean Good was completed in 2008, built by Keith Wilson, carrying the number 2414. Upon purchase in 2022, the locomotive was repainted and renumbered to 2538. The locomotive has been seen running only a handful of times and is currently undergoing a major overhaul and due back into traffic in 2024.
